The Matcha Sage is our ceremonial-grade organic green tea powder, grown in the fields of Nishio, Japan. Taken for over 800 years by Samurai warriors and Buddhist monks, our ceremonial-grade matcha is the highest grade of matcha found in Japan. In ceremonial-grade matcha, only the topmost leaves of the green tea plant is used, making it more nutrient-dense than other grades of matcha. Deeper in taste and with a more distinct aroma than The Matcha Warrior, The Matcha Sage can be used as a hot tea or shaken cold in an iced tea.
